Dear Church:
The word wonderful is a word I confess to using too often. It is a word akin to awesome. When using the word wonderful, we speak of “wonderful time,” “wonderful book,” “wonderful person,” or “wonderful church. We often apply the word to a thousand things that are unworthy of the description. However, Isaiah, the prophet got it right when he used the word. He said concerning the Lord Jesus, “His name shall be called WONDERFUL. Vance Havner used to say about Jesus, He was the earthly child of a heavenly father and the heavenly child of an earthly mother. That alone earns the title WONDERFUL. However, I call Him Wonderful because He is my Savior. As I write this newsletter, I am aware that the summer is rapidly coming to a close. The students go back to school in less than two weeks. Some college students check in this week-end. What a
fast pace and busy summer it has been around Northbrook. A group went to Mississippi on a mission trip. The Summer Son team was busy sharing Jesus each week. The Upstate Evangelism Conference was a huge success. Vacation Bible School exciting and well done. Many have been saved this summer. Thanks Northbrook for all you have given to serve Jesus. God bless you for your commitment to Him this summer. Don’t forget about the back to school rally on August 15th. We will have an indoor service followed by outdoor activities and food.
