This is a huge time of transition for Northbrook Youth. There are a lot of changes taking place and I’m excited about ALL of them. The youth spent some time this past Wednesday talking about desires and dreams. I feel that we now all are on the same page and working towards a common goal and that is to reach middle school and high school students for Christ. Together we set a goal to have 50 students in youth worship by the beginning of summer. I look forward to Wednesday nights in the month of December. We are starting a series entitled “Christmas is A Time For…” I can’t wait to see how God speaks to us through this time of Worship. Remember the youth room is now open on Wednesday nights from 6:15-8:00. We are currently in the process of putting together a new praise band to lead us in Worship on Wednesday. Any youth age student wishing to join can join us for practice on Tuesday nights at 5:00. Wednesday night the youth voted to began remodeling the youth room in the next few weeks. We are excited about upcoming events for our teenagers. December 10th our teens will be going to Miracle Hill Rescue Mission in downtown Spartanburg to help prepare and serve a meal to the residents. After the youth have an opportunity to serve our community we will then be going to Ice on Main in downtown Greenville. Also at the end of December our students are going on Winter Ski Retreat. I encourage all students to attend even if skiing isn’t for them. Tubing and other options are available. This will be a time of Worship, and really getting to know one another. I challenged our teenagers Wednesday night to lets begin building our youth ministry around prayer. I encourage our church family to begin praying for our teenagers as well. I am expecting God to do awesome things in the next few months in the lives of our teenagers. It is important that in all things we do we let God remain the center. I am exciting about the month of December and the upcoming year and I encourage any teenagers who aren’t involved in our youth program to get involved.
