Hear from our Children’s Director...
The cold weather has finally made an appearance, decorations are up, and Christmas is right around the corner. This time of year is especially exciting for children. I know many are counting down the days until a two week break from school. It’s especially easy during Christmas time to get busy, and forget to remember the reason for the season. I encourage families this Christmas to take time to remember what Christmas is all about. Take time to read the Christmas story to your children. Take time to remember the birthday of Jesus and to truly worship Him in your homes. I encourage you to thank God for all the things He blessed your families with this past year. I believe God blesses us whether it is financially, with talents, or other ways He chooses, so that we can use those blessings to bless others. I pray that as Christmas approaches and the new year is coming quickly as you reflect and thank God for your blessings began to ask Him to show you how you can in turn bless others this Christmas season and in the upcoming year. God has blessed our Children’s ministry tremendously this past year. We hit record highs in AWANA with 64 children. We have seen numerous amounts of children saved throughout the year in AWANA, sports camp, VBS, and through other numerous children’s ministries. God is blessing our children’s ministry, and our children are turning around and blessing others. Over the past few weeks we have raised numerous amounts of snack foods to take to local elementary schools. The schools send the food home with students who are dependent upon school lunch as there only meal. The food we raised is sent home with the students and they now can eat over the weekend and holidays. Our Children’s choir will be going this coming week to perform their Christmas musical at Skylyn Place Nursing Home. I trust God is going to use them to speak to the residents. The Children’s Christmas party will be immediately following the evening Worship service on Dec. 11th in the fellowship hall. All children’s families are invited to attend. I want to wish all of our Children and their families a very Merry Christmas.
Working for Him,
Deandra
